The controller of the personal data collected by CountOnFit (hereinafter the “Application”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is:

1. Information We Collect

When you use CountOnFit, we may collect the following types of information:

• Account information: email address, user ID, and depending on the chosen method, sign-in information provided by Apple, Google, or Firebase Authentication. Your login credentials (password) are processed directly by our authentication provider (Firebase Authentication); we do not access your password in plain text after submission.
• Profile data: age, sex, weight, height, and nutrition goals that you voluntarily provide.
• Food data: the meal descriptions you enter, saved foods, as well as the nutrition analysis results generated by AI.
• Health and fitness data: with your explicit authorization, CountOnFit may read your calories burned (active energy burned) from Apple Health (HealthKit) in order to display your daily energy expenditure. This authorization is optional and can be revoked at any time from your device settings.
• Hydration and tracking data: your goals, daily logs (weight, hydration, meals), and tracking history.

2. Data Storage

Some of your data (profile, hydration, goals, daily logs, saved foods) is stored locally on your device and synchronized in the cloud via Firebase Firestore, allowing you to recover your data if you change devices or reinstall the application.

3. Use of Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, personalize, and improve the features of the Application.
• Analyze meal descriptions through our artificial intelligence service in order to calculate nutritional values.
• Manage your account and subscriptions.
• Send you local reminder notifications if you have authorized them.

4. Artificial Intelligence Processing

The meal descriptions you enter may be sent to a third-party artificial intelligence service (OpenAI) through a secure proxy server in order to estimate calories and macronutrients. For certain uncommon foods or dishes, the service may also perform searches on public online sources to improve the nutritional estimate.

Food-related requests are sent without intentionally including your direct identifiers (such as your name or email address) in the AI processing request. However, this data remains associated with your account within the application ecosystem.

We recommend that you do not include sensitive or unnecessarily identifying information in free-text meal descriptions.

5. Notifications

If you agree, the application may send you local reminders related to nutrition tracking, weight, or certain promotional offers. These notifications are scheduled locally on your device. You can disable them at any time from your device settings.

6. Support and Assistance

If you contact support from within the application, your email may automatically include contextual information such as the application version, device model, and iOS version, in order to help us resolve your issue more efficiently.

7. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except in the following cases:

• Service providers: we use third-party services (Firebase for authentication and storage, OpenAI through a proxy server for AI analysis) that process data on our behalf and according to our instructions.
• Legal obligations: we may disclose your information if required by law.

8. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information. API keys and sensitive data are securely stored on our servers and are never directly exposed in the application.

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

10. Your Rights (GDPR)

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:

• Right of access to your personal data.
• Right to rectification of inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure of your data.
• Right to data portability.
• Right to object to the processing of your data.
• Right to withdraw your consent at any time where processing is based on consent.

Legal basis for processing: the processing of your data is based on your consent (notably for access to HealthKit data and the sending of notifications) and on the performance of the contract (for the provision of the service, the management of your account, and the processing of your food-related data).

Transfers outside the EU: some of our service providers (Firebase/Google, OpenAI) may process data outside the European Union. These transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

To exercise your rights, you may contact us at support.countonfit@gmail.com. We undertake to respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority.

11. Subscriptions and Payments

Payments and subscriptions are fully managed by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information.

12. Children

The Application is rated 9+ on the App Store. It is not intended for children under the age of 9. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 9 years old. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so that we can delete it.

13. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. Any changes will be published on this page with the updated revision date.
